The Dielleffe Nautical Group from Desenzano del Garda is celebrating its first 40 years of activity with the 1st Desenzano City Trophy, scheduled for Sunday, April 6. Founded in June 1985, the organization has distinguished itself through its commitment to inclusive sailing, making the sport accessible to individuals with disabilities through initiatives like “Sailing Without Barriers.” The event, organized under the auspices of the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV), marks a significant moment to reflect on the club’s history and its contribution to the community.
Over the years, the Dielleffe Nautical Group has transformed its mission from a recreational club to an independent entity affiliated with the FIV, promoting courses and regattas. The “Sailing Without Barriers” project, active since 2008, involves volunteers and local associations to provide sailing experiences to those facing social or physical challenges. With over 100 participants expected at Sunday’s event, the gathering will not only be a sporting competition but also a celebration of solidarity and inclusion.
