A bear was spotted last night in Cimbergo, in the Camonica Valley, marking the latest in a series of encounters with the animal in the province of Brescia. In recent days, one specimen was captured on camera in Berzo Inferiore, and another visited beehives in Valvestino shortly after Ferragosto. The increasing presence of bears has prompted the Province to raise awareness about the safety of hikers and bikers.

In response to the sightings, the Provincial Police Command has issued some guidelines to follow in case of a close encounter with a bear. Among the recommendations are to remain calm, avoid sudden movements, and always leave an escape route for the animal. To date, 32 reports concerning bear sightings have been recorded, although not all have been confirmed through direct investigations.
