Inter-Municipal Zoning Plan Disappearance Sparks Local Debate

We will discuss the inter-municipal zoning plan (the unfortunate one done together with Riva) and its inexplicable disappearance from the scene, Thursday evening in the Torbole council. It will be the majority of Mayor Parolari to raise the issue by presenting an agenda item on the subject.

Status of the zoning plan

The Nago-Torbole zoning plan rests in the Province, awaiting approval whose exact duration is uncertain, but it is well known. Specifically, it has been nine years since the decision was made to review the previous urban planning instrument.

Of course, not all these years have passed since the Prg in Trento. In the capital city, the procedures have only been ongoing for a couple of years. Unfortunately, other delays have accumulated: prior to the final adoption, which was carried out by commissioner Flaim, after he reviewed and responded to citizens’ observations and made corrections for obvious errors that emerged later. In any case, all years lost.

Impact on projects and finances

Especially for those waiting to proceed with their projects, whether building a house entirely or perhaps waiting to start expanding an old residence, as permitted by the new plan or any other work. Among those waiting is the Municipality itself, which faces delays in several public works. Perhaps with the fear of losing related funding.

The biggest impact at this moment is the provincial contribution of nine billion euros, allocated from a fund dedicated to education to build the new school center in Nago. Not to mention the direct losses each year due to missed tax revenues (urbanization charges and Ici, for example). In short, the problem is serious for everyone.

Statements by Mayor Parolari

And Parolari had previously denounced, last November during a municipal council meeting, that it was a mistake (“a disaster,” he said) to have teamed up with Riva based on supposed affinities, which later proved to be quite counterproductive. The mayor explained that the larger issues of the city center and its interests had caused the problems.
