International arrest in Sirmione for tax evasion

Recently, a 54-year-old Polish citizen was apprehended by agents from the Public Security Police Station of Desenzano del Garda after being located in Sirmione, where he was staying in a hotel. The man, who was residing irregularly in Italy and had a significant criminal history, was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant issued by British authorities for serious tax offenses, including tax evasion and money laundering.
The arrest took place after agents had monitored his movements for some time. Following his identification, the 54-year-old was transferred to the “Nerio Fischione” Prison in Brescia, where he awaits extradition to the United Kingdom. Investigations are ongoing to determine how the man managed to enter the country and whether there are connections to other illegal activities.
