Lake Campione Art Meeting Showcases Lake-Inspired Paintings Throughout Summer
Lake Campione Artists’ Meeting
More than usual, the event with the “artists of the lake” has gathered about twenty painters, who will take turns to keep alive a well-established tradition.
Initiated this weekend with the presence of the Ramella collection, the art exhibition promoted and curated by Pietro Spinucci will continue throughout September. The series of painting events is sponsored by the cultural department and takes place in the former library.
Participants and selection criteria
The list of participants who will alternate in the room facing the port is lengthy; it includes both well-known painters and new artists invited to exhibit in order to gain recognition. The curator’s chosen criterion is based on quality: “Even if I can’t expect Picasso-level work, it’s essential,” emphasizes Spinucci, “to maintain a decorous artistic dignity that guarantees different projects, yet characteristic, linked to the lake realities.”
Schedule and exhibitions
The exhibition was inaugurated yesterday with the Ramella collection, which will be open for about ten days. From Monday, the 23rd, until Thursday, May 3rd, it will feature Gianni Bollero from Sirmione paired with Bruno Antonazzo from Verona.
In May, the schedule continues with Lucrezia Vitolo from the 3rd to the 13th, Teresa Maria Martini from the 13th to the 23rd; the month concludes with the duo from Bovolone, Vasco and Francesco Bertolini.
June opens with Giuliano Cristofoli from Raldon; from June 12th to 22nd, exhibitions will feature Luca Feder from San Giovanni Lupatoto and Maria Luisa Prandi from Ca’ di David. Ugo Frigo, a painter previously seen in Lazise last year and known for founding the Gruppo amici dell’arte “A. Nardi” in 1967, and for serving as secretary until a few years ago of the Società Belle Arti di Verona, will close the month.
Artists for July, August, and September
Three Verona-based painters will alternate in July: Natalina Marcantoni from Ca’ di David, Gilberto Colzato from Castel D’Azzano, and Enrica Fara. August begins with Mimmo Sarchiapone from Pescara, an engraver and aquafortist. He is replaced in the second half of August by Carlo Pellegrini, who is in turn succeeded by Paola Pellegrini from Isola della Scala.
Four painters will be present in September, starting with Franco Corsini, followed in the second half of the month by Luciano Canzan. Both are artists fond of lake colors but interpreted with different styles: the first envelops “the reality of landscapes and objects in an unreal atmosphere,” while the second stands out for “perfect drawing and extraordinary color intensity.” The month concludes with Franco Santi and Bruna Stellin, both from Castel D’Azzano.
