An important initiative for lake cleaning will take place in Desenzano on Sunday, September 14, as part of the “Adopt Rivers and Lakes” project, promoted by WWF Italy in collaboration with Lidl. The event will kick off at 9:00 AM at the Porto Diga Foranea, where participants will gather to collect waste along the shores and conduct underwater cleaning efforts led by a team of experienced divers. This symbolic act aims to protect the natural heritage of the area and raise community awareness about the preservation of aquatic ecosystems.
The gathering will feature speeches from Alessia Bonifazi, Director of Corporate Affairs at Lidl Italy, and Luigi Agresti, Network & Programme Senior Expert at WWF Italy, along with other representatives from the organization. This initiative presents an opportunity to engage citizens, families, and athletes in the defense of biodiversity and in the fight against pollution threatening local lakes and rivers. Through “Adopt Rivers and Lakes,” the goal is to restore Lake Garda to its deserved beauty through concrete and collaborative actions.
