In an official communication this morning, the Garda Community reassured that the recent fluctuations in the level of the Lake Garda are not a cause for concern, despite generating some apprehension among the lakeside municipalities. Currently, the hydrometric level stands at 113 cm above zero at Peschiera del Garda, showing a slight downward trend.
Constant Monitoring
The outflow from the lake is currently 80 cubic meters per second, a value considered optimal for this time of year. There is ongoing dialogue with AIPO (Interregional Agency for the Po) to ensure a multifunctional management of water resources. This collaboration aims to balance various needs, taking into account current and future weather conditions, as well as the progress of the PNRR works related to the Sarca-Garda-Mincio system, which are still underway.
Priority on Drinking Water Use and Water Quality
The hydraulic management of the basin, entrusted to the interregional agency of the Po, is recognized as careful and capable of balancing the multiple legitimate uses of water. The absolute priority of human and drinking water use is reiterated. For this reason, continuous attention and monitoring of the water quality of Lake Garda remain fundamental elements.
