The Lake Garda water level is slightly rising and stands just under 60 centimetres above the Peschiera hydrometric zero, according to the Garda Community. Outflow from the lake has been cut to 18 cubic metres per second for several days.
Who announced the figures
The update comes from Pierlucio Ceresa, secretary general of the Comunità del Garda, who described the overall picture as very positive, also in view of the weather forecasts.
Outflow and the Mincio
The current outflow has to guarantee the minimum vital flow of the Mincio river and the lakes of Mantua. An earlier update at the end of September had announced a reduction for early October, agreed between AIPO (the Po river authority), the Mincio Consortium and the Garda Community.
Outlook for the autumn weeks
According to Ceresa, conditions are ideal for the autumn months, with safety margins to cope with the recurring weather problems that can statistically occur in the coming weeks. He called the water management over the year balanced and cooperative, a result he described as not to be taken for granted in a 2026 marked by severe drought, and thanked AIPO, the Mincio Consortium and the Garda Community for their cooperation.
