Lake Race 2023 Results Highlight Brescia and Ligurian Victory
Ichtya waves the 2001 Lake Flag. For the Peschiera club, it is a real triumph, achieved after a fiercely contested head-to-head with Bardolino, which secured a well-deserved second place.
The last race introduced the novelty that boats could choose their lane. The final standings then continue with Garda in third place, San Felice del Benaco’s Portesina in fourth, Iseo Lake’s Clusanina in fifth, and Gardone Riviera’s Foscarina in sixth.
The results of the boats and the provincial ranking
A challenge that overall was won by representatives from the Ligurian Riviera, represented by the prestigious Ichtya, Bardolino, and Garda (while good placements were also achieved by Lazise’s boats – Birba won the Garda Community Trophy – competing in the smaller heats).
The forecast, though uncertain, left little room for hope for the Brescians: Ichtya, the outright leader in the seven traveling races, finished with 198 points, followed by Garda with 196 and Bardolino with 184.
Thus, the results for the Brescia boats: Clusanina with 174 points, Portesina with 154, and Foscarina of Gardone in the back, having entered the winning group only after a tiebreaker against Serenissima of Salo.
A situation that, if not providing a definitive indication of the results – as the new regulation states that everyone starts from zero in the final – at least offers a clear reading of the crews’ strength in the field.
The Trofeo Provincia di Brescia was awarded to S. Ercolano, which finished ahead of Ca’ Da Mosto, Torricella di Cassone, and Lacisium of Lazise.
