Festival del Garda Semifinals Preview: Singing Contests and Talent Show
Final appointments and semifinals of the Festival del Garda
Last events of the Festival del Garda. Tonight, starting at 9:30 PM, at Parco Castello, the first of four semi-finals for the singing contest for performers takes place. The upcoming ones will be in Bardolino, Salò, and Limone.
In total, 16 singers will compete: the 12 winners from the stages held so far, who will be joined by the two best runners-up. This evening, beneath the Lacustrine Scaliger Castle, four voices will take the stage at Cantalago searching for the sole ticket to advance to the final in Riva, scheduled for August 27.
This includes Brescia’s Siria Sbardolini (Riguarda noi by Giorgia), Francesca Marchi from Albaredo d’Adige (You’ll follow me down), Cristina Biava from Albano Sant’Alessandro in Bergamo Province (Il mio sbaglio più grande by Laura Pausini), and Antonella Bacchini, who finished second at Bedizzole and will perform Semplice sai by Jenny B.
Original Song Category and Hosts
The challenge continues for the original song section, with the competition to reach the semifinals. The match-up is between Massimiliano Corrà from San Bonifacio (Una nuova favola)—winner in Torri—and the Pescantina-born Linda Ongarelli (Sabbia tra le dita), who won in Bogliaco.
Hosting the event is the lively Gloria Zanin, a show of charm and beauty. During the event, a parade of stars will perform alongside the contestants, including Paolo Fin (Il grillo assassino), the blonde Diletta Orlandi (Rain on the heart), and the dance groups Gamblers and Pantera Rosa.
The comedy will be provided by Gianpiero Perone, a true entertainer with hilarious stories of Diabolik and Tinker Bell.
During the evening, the Miss Lazise pageant will also take place, with the winner chosen by the jury after walking the runway in evening wear, casual attire, and the classic black bodysuit. The winner will automatically qualify for the regional final scheduled for the day before Ferragosto in Bardolino, as part of the Festival del Garda.
The winner of that stage will advance directly to the stage in Salsomaggiore.
