Land Rover Launches in Brescia with Boeing 737 Arrival for New Range Rover

At D’Annunzio Airport in Montichiari yesterday morning at 11:20, the first Boeing 737/700 aircraft with the initial guests of Land Rover landed. They are Scots from Edinburgh, who arrived in Montichiari for the worldwide launch of the new Range Rover flagship, an event that will see over 6,000 technicians, dealers, and automotive professionals arrive in Brescia. From the aircraft that landed yesterday, a completely white Boeing with the inscription «New Range Rover» and the Land Rover logo on the sides of the two lateral engines, 48 guests disembarked, who were immediately guided by hostesses into the nearby airport hangar. The Boeing parked just a few meters from a large shed, set up inside with movable walls, furnishings, and computers to make the guests comfortable during the presentation.

After an aperitif offered by Land Rover staff, the Scots were welcomed into a larger space, a sort of cinema with numerous videos and armchairs. Their presentation of the new vehicle began here. Journalists were not allowed to attend since a specially organized event for them will take place later, probably a few days after the official public presentation of the new Range Rover, scheduled for next January. “We will have four months to talk about it” the organizers replied, so the press operators could only peek inside the large warehouse, where numerous Land Rovers are lined up, some of which will be used by the guests to reach Palazzo Arzaga in Calvagese sul Garda.

Reception and Tourist Itineraries

Those guests will be hosted at the residence for two nights, and in the meantime, alongside other professional meetings, they will enjoy moments of relaxation and cultural activities along some characteristic routes (using Land Rovers, as required) through the hills bordering our lake. Even the tail of the Boeing 737, operated by the German airline Hamburger, displayed a landscape of our lake painted on it, demonstrating the tourism aspect of Rover’s intense program. Among the authorities present to welcome this first group of Rover visitors was Dr. Vincenzo Fusco, the most senior official of the airport district, which oversees not only D’Annunzio but also Linate and Malpensa airports.

“A great opportunity for Montichiari,” commented Dr. Fusco, “for the future of D’Annunzio Airport. This event means a lot, and we are pleased because the location is truly perfect. There are large spaces available, ideal for this international Rover showcase.” The Boeing 737/700, which will shuttle between Montichiari and major European capitals, is brand new, repainted for the occasion, and 24 seats have been removed to give passengers more space and comfort.

Planes of that type offer 148 seats, whereas the aircraft used by Land Rover has only 124 seats. Starting yesterday, a project has been launched to operate a “Rover flight” daily to Brescia: today, a group will arrive from Manchester; tomorrow, from Leeds; then from London Stansted, Gatwick, and Bristol; and on December 4th, the first flight from Germany, followed by the first from Paris on December 8th. This will continue until mid-March with over 100 flights and more than 6,000 guests eager to discover all the secrets of the new Range Rover flagship.
