In the past few hours, the Municipality of Toscolano Maderno announced the closure of the access road to the Valle delle Cartiere due to a landslide that occurred last Thursday. The situation was further aggravated by the falling of a tree, which required an immediate intervention to ensure the safety of the area.
After a careful inspection by the competent authorities, the decision was made to completely close the road to prevent further detachments and ensure the safety of citizens. Currently, work is underway and the Municipality will communicate the reopening as soon as possible.
Authorities urge motorists to scrupulously respect the road signs and the instructions provided by the law enforcement officers present at the scene. Civil Protection, Local Police, Municipal Team, and Geological Consultancy intervened to manage the emergency and ensure safety in the area affected by the landslide.

Several interventions are planned on the roads in the territory of Toscolano Maderno in the next week, in addition to the closure of the road to the Valle delle Cartiere. These works will involve closures and traffic diversions in some areas.
On May 6th, Via Cecina will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm to allow for the dismantling of scaffolding related to the public construction site “ex casa Campanardi”. It is important to note that the scaffolding prevented the complete closure of the road during the works.
Also on May 6th, Via Pulciano Gaino will be closed at number 47 for maintenance work on a private building, resulting in a diversion of vehicular traffic to other roads.
In the afternoon of the same day, Via Montana will be closed to vehicular traffic from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm to allow for the installation of windows on a private building. Access will only be allowed from Via Garibaldi.
On May 7th and 8th, Via Garibaldi will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm to allow for the installation of windows on another private building. In this case as well, access will only be allowed from Via Montana.
