The intermunicipal youth center Cantiere 26 in Riva del Garda is about to reopen its doors with a special event called “Decollo” (Takeoff). The management of the center has been entrusted to the cooperative Smart, which has been working in the field of youth policies in the province of Trento for years.
The event will take place on Friday, April 26th, and Saturday, April 27th, and will offer two days of presentations, activities for all ages, artistic interventions, and music. The main objective is to meet the local community and breathe new life into a place that has been closed for too long.
The Friday evening will start at 5 pm with the presentation of the management project and the operational team. This will be followed by a reflection on the importance of youth spaces for the future of the area. Roberto Covolo, an expert in youth policies, will lead this discussion remotely from Bari.
During the evening, the center’s bar will offer a buffet accompanied by vinyl music selected by resident DJs Remo’o and Chesko.
On Saturday, April 27th, the day will begin at 4 pm with activities for all ages in the outdoor park. There will be readings for the little ones, artistic workshops, and preparatory games organized by GoFast and Ludimus. The concerts will start at 9 pm with a live performance by Cheyenne, a promising nu jazz project created by Riva’s drummer Patrizio Mimiola. This will be followed by a live performance by Sibodedj, one of the most interesting artists on the Italian scene, who has played at the country’s most important independent festivals. The evening will conclude with a DJ set by Maia Djane.
The Smart cooperative, which has also been managing the Smartlab youth center in Rovereto for ten years, aims to welcome and enhance the local youth. They want to promote the development of skills and projects conceived by young people themselves, as well as collaborate with local institutions, associations, and businesses to promote social and cultural innovation.
The event at Cantiere 26 is therefore an opportunity to discover the new initiatives that will be proposed at the youth center in Riva del Garda and to participate in an event dedicated to the meeting of young people, culture, and the territory.
