Lazise and the Greasy Pole: summer events not to be missed

On Saturday, July 19th, at **9:00 PM**, the **old port** of **Lazise** will host the eagerly awaited **89th Palo della Cuccagna del Cadenon**, a summer event that attracts numerous spectators each year. Four teams, representing different areas of the town, will compete to capture the flag placed at the top of a slippery pole. The competing teams are Porta San Zeno, Porta del Lion, Porta Cansignorio, and Boca del Porto, all ready to give their best in this traditional competition.

The historic contest involves participants walking barefoot along a well-greased horizontal pole positioned at the corner of the ancient port. Contestants must grab the flag and dive into the water to claim their prize. This event is not only a test of skill but also a moment of fun and engagement for the entire local community and the visiting tourists.
