Lazise Establishes New Nursery Center with Family-Focused Benefits
A private nursery school, authorized by the Municipality and capable of accommodating up to 60 children from three months to three years old. This will be achieved through the expansion of the current Girasole play center located in Mombinda (at Pergole), which is the only facility of its kind existing within the municipal territory. The project became feasible thanks to the adoption by the City Council – with votes solely from the majority – of a partial variation to the zoning plan that allows the construction, on a plot of approximately 5,000 square meters owned by Valerio Bigagnoli and Maria Teresa Torresendi (which was converted from agricultural use to educational area for this purpose), of a secondary urbanization work considered a service of public interest.
At the same time, the Council approved the management agreement for the new nursery’s operation, which will be entrusted to the Girasole play center, represented by its owner Alessia Bigagnoli. The agreement has a duration of twenty years and commits the operators to comply with – in addition to obligatory commitments regarding operators and staff, and ensuring the provision of the service in accordance with current safety regulations including accident prevention, hygiene, and workplace safety – several fundamental clauses to benefit families residing in Lazise.
Measures and benefits for families
In summary, provisions include the establishment of the Nursery School Coordination and Management Committee comprising parents of the children; the presentation of the educational project by section; and the promotion of training meetings with sector specialists.
At least 25 places will be reserved for children of residents of Lazise, with a 10 percent discount applied to the entire monthly fee. An additional three spots will be allocated to children of residents whose families are in economic difficulty, with fee reductions ranging from a minimum of 20 percent to a maximum of 50 percent. Two more places will be reserved for children identified by the municipal social services as at risk.
The unilateral deed of obligation between the parties also specifies that the nursery’s management will revert to the Municipality in the form of a free loan, should the activity for which the facility was built be interrupted for any reason for a continuous period exceeding one year.
