Lazise Hosts Gala Concert Honoring Don Edoardo Sacchella
Lazise. A top-level lyric concert was hosted by the municipal administration, in cooperation with the Lazise Associations and the festival committee presided over by Don Nicola Azzali, as a gesture of gratitude towards Don Edoardo Sacchella.
The parish priest who, after 18 years of pastoral work, left the Parish of Saints Martin and Zeno to take over the leadership of the Parish of Santa Anastasia in the center of Verona.
The performers of the evening, which filled the parish church: Tenor Nicola Martinucci, Baritone Carlo Maria Cantoni, soprano Daniela Longhi with violinist Agnese Tasso and pianist Armando Tasso, director of the Arenian choir.
All highly renowned international artists who have performed in the world’s leading theaters with famous conductors, presenting a crescendo of operatic arias by Verdi, Puccini, Massenet, and Tosti.
Acknowledgments and speeches
During the intermission, Mayor Luca Sebastiano, on behalf of the entire community, presented Don Edoardo with a gold medal featuring the reliefs of the lakefront town and a parchment signed by all the municipal councilors.
The highlight of the special evening was the appearance of Lazise amateur baritone Emanuele Veronesi, who performed the first piece from Rigoletto, “Pari siamo,” dedicated to Don Sacchella.
An acknowledgment for bringing this cast of artists to Lazise goes to Maestro Maurizio Pugnaletto, assistant to Renzo Giacchieri, superintendent of the Fondazione Arena di Verona.
