Le Robe de na Olta Museum Reopens in Moniga, Celebrating Rural Traditions
The “Museo Le Robe de na Olta” in Moniga del Garda reopened on Monday, 13 July, with two rooms on the ground floor of the municipal building, next to the post office. The new exhibition offers a route focused on local farming traditions and everyday life memory, featuring objects connected to work and family life from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th century.
The first part of the display presents tools used in fields and vineyards, including sickles, rakes, saws, multi-purpose blades, and harvesting implements, alongside items such as a gromial for collecting leaves and fruit, small wine-making containers, sprayers and sulfur-related equipment, and tools used for silkworm cocoons. The opposite side includes pieces from the interwar period, such as an early typewriter, period photographs, and a showcase with vintage cameras, while further inside visitors can see a reconstructed late-19th-century kitchen setup and a bedroom area with traditional household items and personal objects.
The museum’s itinerary brings together traditional objects, domestic costumes, and instruments tied to local rural life, aiming to connect different generations through materials linked to parents’ and grandparents’ past. “Museo Le Robe de na Olta” is open every Monday from 9:00 to 12:00.
