Ledro Tunnels Closure Extended for Monitoring and Safety Study

The closure of the tunnels between Riva del Garda and Val di Ledro has been postponed by one week. The two tunnels “Dom” and “Agnese” along the Ledro state road will remain closed to traffic from 10 PM on Friday, February 11, to 10 PM on Sunday, February 13, lasting approximately 48 hours. This order is issued by the president of the Trento Provincial Government, Lorenzo Dellai, to allow for the study and monitoring of ongoing deformations in the “Dom” tunnel, as well as the need for a vertical geognostic survey involving the installation of an inclinometer.

Alternative routes for those coming from Riva entail detouring onto provincial road 37 and state road 237 towards Ponte Arche, Tione, and Storo; traffic from Val di Ledro heading towards Riva will need to take the reverse route, towards Storo and then along state road 237 towards Tione, Ponte Arche, and Riva.

Exceptions to the closure

To mitigate the inevitable inconveniences, certain exceptions to the complete traffic closure are planned: emergency vehicles and public transport during scheduled service hours will be permitted to pass.

Technicians expect to complete the work and reopen the tunnels possibly a few hours before the scheduled deadline of 10 PM on Sunday.
