The summer of 2025 in Lonato promises to be filled with events, featuring a program of Summer Events in Lonato designed to enliven the town through a wide array of music, cultural initiatives, and entertainment. The calendar is the result of collaboration between the Municipality, the Ugo da Como Foundation, local associations, and operators, aiming to enhance the most picturesque locations in the area. These spaces, from the historic center to the Rocca, will transform into stages for a diverse range of Shows in Lonato and moments dedicated to Culture in Lonato, promoting social interaction and beauty for both residents and visitors.
Exceptional Stages for Lonato’s Summer
Various initiatives will take place in the most emblematic locations of the City. The historic Visconti-Venetian Rocca will serve as the backdrop for the opera “La Bohème” in July. The Zambelli Palace, currently home to the municipal library, will become a theater for an evening of stand-up comedy. The central Piazza Martiri della Libertà, in the heart of the historic center, will come alive with multiple events from June to August. The Shrine of the Miraculous Madonna of San Martino has been confirmed as the venue for the concert series “Voices at San Martino,” which will conclude the event season at the end of September.
Established Events and Anticipated Newcomers
The summer program sees the return of traditional formats that are well-followed by the local community and beyond. Among these, the festival dedicated to circus arts, “Lonato in Festival”, is scheduled from August 8 to 10, along with the film series “Cinema in the Garden” taking place in July. In September, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II will be the heart of the “Lonato Jazz Festival”, now in its fourth edition, featuring three consecutive evenings dedicated to jazz music. The official opening of the summer season will be entrusted to the “Lonato Music Festival”, set for Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7, with two evenings of live musical performances.
A Fusion of Culture and Local Flavors
This year also sees a renewed commitment to combining culture and culinary traditions, reaffirming adherence to the format of the National Association of Wine Cities. As a member of the association, Lonato will host the event “The Nights of Wine” on August 22. This initiative continues the fruitful collaboration with the Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori del Garda Association and the essential support of the Ugo da Como Foundation. The evening will feature moments of music, guided tastings, and the opportunity to gaze at the starry sky. More details and specific updates regarding the event will be communicated in the coming months.
Discovering the Historical-Cultural Heritage
For those looking to explore the rich local heritage, dedicated visiting opportunities to the major historical and cultural points of interest are available. At the Tourist Information Office, free audioguides can be obtained simply by presenting a valid ID as a deposit. These guides provide detailed descriptions of the main monuments located in the historic center. As highlighted by the Councilor for Culture, Tourism, and Events, Mariangela Musci, Lonato is “a wonderful ancient village on the morainic hills of the Lake Garda. Events and initiatives for the community and beyond transform the area into an experience to be lived.”
