On the evening of **Tuesday, March 11, 2025**, the first meeting dedicated to renewable energy producers was held at the Municipality of Lonato del Garda, focusing on the establishment of the **Renewable Energy Community “CER Lonato del Garda.”** Officially constituted in November 2024, this project aims to promote the production and sharing of energy from renewable sources to meet the needs of public buildings and local citizens. The municipal administration, supported by the public company Garda Uno SpA, is actively engaging the community through informational meetings to raise awareness about this new energy model.
The CER represents an initiative that brings together citizens, small and medium-sized enterprises, and local authorities in the sharing of renewable electricity produced within a defined geographical area. The Municipality of Lonato del Garda, as a founding member of the CER, aims to ensure economic and environmental benefits for community members, encouraging energy self-consumption and contributing to the transition towards sustainable practices. With the extension of the terms for accessing PNRR funds announced by Minister Pichetto Fratin, the municipality is preparing to further support those who wish to embark on this journey towards greater energy independence.
