Lonato Stages Regional Final of Miss Eleganza Contest, Seeks National Winner

“So far, the promotion of tourism through shows and concerts has been largely positive,” explains Paolo Marcoli, the Deputy Mayor of Commerce in Lonato. “We hope the good weather will also favor us tomorrow, August 26th, for the beauty parade scheduled in Piazza Martiri della Libertà. This is one of the twenty regional finals that make up the contest, which the Municipality provides organizational support for.”

The Final and the “Ragazza Eleganza” Competition

In particular, the most beautiful contestant will earn the title of “Ragazza Eleganza.” Eligible for the title are girls with physiques suitable for a modeling career, aged between 18 and 25 years. The Lombard girl who, on the runway in Lonato, is voted by the jury will automatically qualify for the national final, scheduled to take place at the tourist port of Rome from September 25th to 28th.

The Freeway Agency is the exclusive licensee of the contest for Lombardy. “Admission to the evening, which begins at 9 PM,” comments Marcoli, “is free. I would like to highlight the wide range of proposals that have characterized Lonato Festival over these three months. From fashion shows to puppet performances, from classical and opera music to cabaret, from piano bars to dance styles like liscio.”

The Cinema in Rocca event, organized in collaboration with the youth center and concluding tomorrow, has also been a great success. The title of “Ragazza Eleganza” that emerges from the Lonato square is part of the national contest “Un’italiana per Miss Mondo”, which officially represents Italy at the Miss World competition.

Information on the World Finals

The event has been held for fifty years. The world finals, involving representatives from 96 countries across five continents, will take place from October 23rd to November 16th in Sun City, a renowned tourist destination in South Africa.
