A motion in support of the construction of a train station for the Lower Garda has been presented by regional councilor Claudia Carzeri, aiming to expedite the works related to High-Speed Rail on the Brescia-Verona route. The proposal, discussed during the Regional Council on January 14, seeks to ensure that the project proceeds smoothly and emphasizes the strategic importance of the infrastructure in enhancing a region with a strong tourist vocation, which attracts millions of visitors each year.
Carzeri highlighted that the station would serve as a crucial hub for improving mobility and supporting local productive activities, connecting Lake Garda to the Italian and European railway networks. The motion also calls for coordination with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport to overcome any bureaucratic and economic obstacles, emphasizing that the Lombardy Region has previously expressed its support for the project.
