Lugana DOC Makes International Debut at China Wine Shanghai
Another international appearance for the Lugana DOC. From November 18 to 21, the Consorzio Tutela del Lugana DOC will participate with its own stand at the first edition of China Wine, which will be held in the populous city of Shanghai, home to over 13,000,000 inhabitants.
Located in Jiangsu Province, Shanghai not only boasts a major global port but is also rich in textile, steel, chemical, and petrochemical industries, as well as glass and tobacco manufacturing. At this inaugural international wine fair, Lugana producers will be present through the Consorzio, showcasing the entire range of Lugana DOC wines from their member producers.
Participation and Activities in China
This Lago Garda wine expedition will include about a dozen companies producing this exceptional white wine, considered by experts to be among the finest Italian white wines, each with dedicated customized stands. The presence of Lugana producers and the Consorzio del Lugana in China was made possible thanks to the support of the Camere di Commercio di Brescia e Verona, who have long been attentive to and supportive of the international promotion of this product.
For the Consorzio Tutela Lugana, the president Francesco Ghirardi will also be present in China. Additionally, Banca di Roma, through its branch and its Shanghai Director, has expressed its willingness to serve as a support point, assisting Lugana DOC producers by providing technical hospitality and coordination for our participants and the Chinese production and commercial sectors.
Impact and Perspectives in China
This will be the first official entry into the highly populous Asian country, with over 1,160,000,000 inhabitants spread across 9,356,499 km2, which will undoubtedly generate interest in this Italian wine. As seen in other parts of the world, the Lugana DOC will surely garner high appreciation and favorable reception from Chinese entrepreneurs in the hospitality and large-scale retail sectors.
Moreover, it is well known that Lugana DOC pairs excellently with many dishes based on rice, the staple food throughout China.
