M5S Lombardia Opposes Proposed TAV Station Between Rivoltella and Torre di San Martino

M5S Lombardia regional councilor Paola Pollini has rejected the proposed high-speed train station between Rivoltella and Torre di San Martino, describing it as unnecessary. The project, which has been debated for nearly a decade, faces opposition due to concerns over poor connectivity, redundant infrastructure, and potential land use issues.

Pollini cited the lack of proper transport links, the station’s proximity to the A4 motorway, and the questionable utility of new cycling lanes and parking areas. She also highlighted the risk of devaluing the existing Desenzano station and noted the project’s estimated cost of approximately 200 million euros.
