Manerba del Garda Bestows Honorary Citizenship on Giovanni Franzoni
The Municipality of Manerba del Garda will confer honorary citizenship on Giovanni Franzoni on Wednesday, May 28, 2026. The official ceremony begins at 8:30 PM in the Sala Consiliare and will be broadcast live on a large screen in Piazza Aldo Moro; in the morning, Franzoni will meet with local middle school students at the Palazzetto dello Sport.
The evening program starts at 7:30 PM in the square with a DJ set and a parish-run refreshment stand, hosted by Dody Nicolussi. Attendees include Nadia Fanchini and a representative from the Guardia di Finanza, the corps whose sports body Franzoni is part of. Mayor Flaviano Mattiotti called the conferment a natural act, while Deputy Mayor Luca Beltrami said the ceremony should be a community-wide celebration.
