Manerba del Garda Reverts to the Era of the Serenissima

Manerba del Garda will host the second edition of “La Rocca e il Leone,” a historical reenactment focused on the Serenissima and daily life between the 15th and 16th centuries. The event will take place on Saturday, 12 September, from 15:00 to 18:00, and on Sunday, 13 September, from 10:00 to 19:00, at the Rocca and the Valtenesi Civic Archaeological Museum.

The Confraternity of the Lion will stage reconstructions of period trades, tools, objects and structures, with reenactors in historical dress, duels and weapons demonstrations. The programme will also recall the Riviera di Salò’s ties to Venice on the 400th anniversary of a related event, and the 1574 assaults that led to the Rocca’s destruction by the Venetian army. Entry to the reenactment area is free, and a food truck will be available throughout the event.
