Mantua and Jihadist Propaganda: Terrorist Recruiter Arrested
Mantova, Jihadist Propaganda and Terrorist Recruitment: A 37-Year-Old Arrested A nationwide police operation has led to the arrest of a 37-year-old foreign national residing in the Mantova area, accused of engaging in activities related to recruitment and indoctrination linked to terrorism. The operation was carried out by officers from the Digos units of Brescia, Genoa, and Mantova, under the supervision of the Central Directorate of Prevention Police in Rome. According to the investigations, the man played a crucial role in radicalizing vulnerable individuals, inciting them to violence and sabotage.
The authorities also accuse him of having significantly influenced an individual already convicted for connections with an Al Qaeda cell. An analysis of the arrested man’s mobile phone revealed propaganda content and materials useful for armed struggle, including tutorial videos on military techniques. Simultaneously, two home searches were conducted by the Digos of Venice against other individuals suspected of having ties to the 37-year-old, suggesting the existence of a broader network that is now under investigation by the authorities.
