Medical Conference in Desenzano on Inflammatory and Intestinal Diseases

Desenzano – The Palazzo del Turismo hosts a medical conference on inflammatory, chronic, and intestinal diseases on Saturday, January 29, promoted by the Lions Club Desenzano Lago with the sponsorship of the municipal administration and the Associazione Amici, which intervenes for the disabling outcomes of intestinal surgeries.

The purpose of the conference, targeted at general practitioners but also open to numerous patients, is to provide attendees with an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the diagnostic and therapeutic options available on these topics, and then to assess future prospects.

The scientific secretary responsible and the organizational director and moderator of the event is Dr. Silvano Tognoli, director of the surgery division at Casa di Cura S. Camillo in Brescia.

Program and Speakers

The morning session, after a welcome coffee, will include the official greetings from the mayor and the president of the Lions Club. Then, Dr. Anna D’Odorico, from University of Padova, will discuss the onset and risk factors; Dr. Walter Piubello, head of the surgery division at Desenzano Hospital, will speak on medical treatment; Professor Renzo Cestari and Dr. Carmen Terraroli from University of Brescia will present on diagnostics and surgery; and Professor Gaetano Delaini from University of Verona will deliver a presentation on surgical prospects and quality of life.

Likewise, Dr. Tognoli will discuss emergency treatment for ulcerative colitis.

In the afternoon, there will be the official presentation of the Associazione di assistenza ai sofferenti di malattie infiammatorie e croniche intestinali Amici, which has over 300 members in the Brescia province.

Before the concluding debate, there will be a speech by the regional health councilor.
