Ministry Supports 43rd Lonato Fair with Official Sponsorship
While the preparatory work for the 43rd edition of the “Fiera Regionale Agricola, Enogastronomica, Artigianale, Commerciale” in Lonato continues with great enthusiasm, an increasing number of confirmations of participation and support are arriving at the organizational Secretariat in Piazza Martiri della Libertà for this regional exhibition event.
Official endorsement from the Ministry
Last Saturday, December 16th, a telegram was delivered to Assessor for Commerce Paolo Marcoli and Mayor Morando Perini. The telegram, from Antonio Cenini, Vice Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Agricultural Policies and Forestry, on behalf of Minister Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, informed the Municipal Authorities of the granting of the ministerial sponsorship for the upcoming Lonato Fair, following an explicit request from the mayor himself, who is also the President of the Fair Committee.
Contents of the telegram
“Regarding the note dated October 30, 2000 – writes the Minister Pecoraro Scanio’s Secretariat –, this ministry hereby grants sponsorship support to the 43rd edition of the Lonato Fair (BS), scheduled from January 12 to 14, 2001. I wish the initiative great success and send cordial greetings. Dr. Antonio Cenini, Deputy Chief of Staff, MIPAF.”
Reactions and statements from Mayor Perini
The Municipal Authorities and Mayor Perini himself expressed great satisfaction, with the latter promptly stating: “The Lonato Fair, in need of new stimuli, has received one directly from the Minister of Agricultural Policies and Forestry this year. The Municipal Administration deemed it appropriate to inform the Minister about the history and traditions of our Fair, as well as the developments we plan to implement starting from this edition.
The Minister himself – continues Mayor and President Morando Perini – believes that what is in our programs represents the right way to interpret agriculture today, and for this reason, he has granted his sponsorship to the event. The Sant’Antonio Fair can therefore also boast this wonderful token of appreciation. We should be proud of it!”
