A **21-year-old** man, already known to the authorities, has been arrested in **Desenzano** for attempting to carry out the **”mirror scam”** against two elderly motorists. The incident occurred during a police check on **Via Marconi**, where officers noticed a suspicious vehicle whose driver was behaving unusually, stopping repeatedly to observe other cars. The young man simulated a collision by extending his arm out of the window while passing by a car driven by an elderly man, trying to provoke him into stopping to discuss the alleged accident.
Thanks to the timely intervention of law enforcement, who were monitoring the scene, the scammer’s plan was thwarted. During a search of his vehicle, officers found seven stones and tools used to make the scam more convincing. Furthermore, shortly after the arrest, another elderly victim reported a similar attempted fraud. In light of these events, the police chief issued a ban preventing the young man from entering the municipality for four years, highlighting the need to raise awareness among the public regarding these insidious methods of fraud targeting the elderly.
