A **21-year-old** man with a criminal record has been arrested in **Desenzano** for attempting to carry out the notorious **”mirror scam”** against two elderly individuals. The incident occurred during a police check on **Via Marconi**, where officers noticed a suspicious vehicle whose driver was displaying unusual behavior, repeatedly stopping to observe other cars. When the young man simulated a collision with a car driven by an elderly person, trying to coax the victim into stopping, the officers intervened promptly.
During the search of the scammer’s vehicle, seven stones, a metal tool, and four blue chalks were found, which were used to make the scam more convincing. The police chief issued a prohibition order preventing the young man from entering the Municipality of Desenzano for four years. Another elderly individual later reported a similar attempted scam. “This was a particularly insidious criminal episode,” commented Police Chief Paolo Sartori, highlighting the importance of awareness campaigns against such predatory acts.
