The event Swimtheisland returns to Sirmione, bringing together 1,200 swimmers from 14 countries who will compete in the open waters of the Lake Garda. Organized by TriO Events in collaboration with the Municipality of Sirmione and arena, the event will take place on Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22, with the race village and starting point located at the beach of the Muses, beneath the Scaliger Castle. The program includes various competitions: Saturday will feature events such as Kid’s the Island for the younger participants, the Family/Team Event (800m), the Mwm Relay (800m), and the Short Swim (1,800m), while in the evening, the Sunset Swim (1,500m) will take place among the Grotte di Catullo.
On Sunday, the main race, the Classic (3,200m), will follow the entire perimeter of the Sirmione peninsula. Mayor Luisa Lavelli highlighted the importance of the event in promoting sustainable tourism and showcasing the beauty of Lake Garda, while Andrea Rosa from TriO Events emphasized the uniqueness of the experience of swimming in such a picturesque setting.
