A 72-year-old German tourist, Dieter Siegfried Niessner, has been found after going missing in Sirmione last Monday, June 16. The man, who was on vacation in Costermano sul Garda, had been reported missing by his wife, and the search efforts were intensified by the Penelope Lombardia association, which launched a social media appeal to gather useful information.
After days of concern and several tips from the public, the tourist was finally located and identified. It has been reported that Niessner is showing early signs of senile dementia, which necessitated the rescue operations. Authorities have confirmed the elderly man’s recovery, bringing an end to a critical situation for his family.
