Moniga del Garda Hosts 14th Chiaretto and Olive Oil Awards

After cutting the ribbon for the fourteenth Exhibition of Chiaretto and Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the mayor of Moniga del Garda, Massimo Pollini, spoke, thanking those who contributed to the successful organization of the event.

Winner Announcement and Prizes

He then announced the winner of the 14th edition of the best Chiaretto of 2001. The award goes to the Marangona di Pozzolengo winery, crowned the best Chiaretto of the year. The recognition is the result of the total scores accumulated through tastings.

The Pompéo Molmenti 2001 trophy was awarded to the Garda Classic Chiaretto Antica Corte Ialidy. The victory was achieved through tastings held in Moniga itself, as well as in Ravello, Munich, and Lugano.

In second and third place are the Chiarettos from La Torre, by Attilio Pasini, and the wineries Turina Fratelli.

Expansion and Impact of the Event

This eighth edition, continued Pollini, of the Chiaretto Palio, has brought Moniga into Italy and Europe, spreading awareness of a territory that, despite being highly touristic, holds pearls and treasures of remarkable charm.

The same Chiaretto surprised the sommeliers in the regions where tastings took place, thanks to its characteristics of freshness and versatility.

The presentation by the mayor of Moniga concluded amidst applause.

Comment from the Councillor and Future Perspectives

According to Patrizia Avigo, Tourism Councillor of Moniga del Garda, delegated by the mayor to preside over the Pompeo Molmenti Trophy commission.
