Moniga mourns the loss of Ingrid Schwarz, a Viennese musician and artist who left an indelible mark on the local community. Born in 1940 in Vienna, Ingrid spent over 60 years in Moniga, where she moved for the summers, becoming an adopted citizen. Her home, built by her parents, was a gathering place for many; her father, known as Dr. Schwarz, was among the pioneers of tourism in the area with the opening of a campsite. With her musical talent, Ingrid played the harp and organ during public and religious events, actively collaborating with the Municipality and the parish.
A lover of music and art, friends are already suggesting dedicating a room in the town hall to her memory. In addition to her musical career, Ingrid also distinguished herself as a painter: in the 1980s and 1990s, she created portraits of nearly all the residents of Moniga, exhibiting them in various local shows. Many of her works are still cherished in her home and represent a valuable cultural heritage for the community.
