The Committee “Let’s Keep the Desenzano Hospital on Montecroce” has recently submitted two official requests to ASST Garda and the President of the Assembly of Mayors of Area 11, calling for greater transparency and participation in the process of establishing the new hospital in Desenzano del Garda. In their requests, the Committee emphasizes the importance of involving all stakeholders, including local administrations, as outlined in ASST Garda Decree no. 639/2023. They also urge the urgent convening of a public assembly to ensure that citizens can exercise their participation rights as established by current legislation.
Despite numerous communications sent between February and May 2025 without a response, the Committee reiterates the need for an open dialogue regarding the future of the hospital. This issue is particularly significant as Decree no. 548 of June 18, 2025, approved substantial investments for the Montecroce Hospital, totaling over 16 million euros. The Committee expresses concern about how these funds will be spent and requests that every decision takes into account not only the strategic position of the hospital but also the efficiency in the use of public resources allocated to local healthcare.
