On the night of January 10th to 11th, the Carabinieri carried out a major cocaine seizure in Montichiari, discovering as much as 100 kilograms of drugs inside a suspicious vehicle. The operation was initiated following an anonymous tip-off that alerted the authorities to the presence of the vehicle parked in the Boschetti area. During a thorough inspection, ten packages weighing ten kilograms each were found, indicating a potential drug trafficking operation worth millions.
After seizing the substance and the vehicle, the Carabinieri from the Brescia and Desenzano Company began investigations to identify the source of the drugs. Footage from surveillance cameras could provide useful information to reconstruct the vehicle’s route and track down those responsible. An initial estimate suggests that a hundred kilograms of cocaine could be worth over 8 million euros on the market, and it is not ruled out that the vehicle may have been stolen specifically for transporting the goods.
