Montichiari and the Risorgimento: the historical exhibition not to be missed
From November 30, 2025, to April 26, 2026, **Montichiari** will host the historical exhibition “**Montechiaro 1859. Events, Visions, and Quarters**” at the Lechi Museum. The exhibition, organized by Montichiari Musei with the patronage of the Municipality, explores significant events related to the **Risorgimento**, highlighting the city’s role during the Second Italian War of Independence. Through unpublished artworks and historical documents, including paintings by Faustino Joli and French engravings from the period, the exhibition recounts the events that involved Montichiari during the battles of Solferino and San Martino. Mayor Marco Togni and the Cultural Councillor Martina Varone emphasized the importance of this initiative for enhancing the local historical and artistic heritage of the city. The exhibition aims not only to provide an opportunity to admire artworks but also to reflect on the roots of Italian Unity. Opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM and from 2:30 PM to 6 PM, and on Sunday from 3 PM to 7 PM; the entrance ticket is set at six euros. Italian Version
