Two hikers were rescued on the night of Sunday, May 25, after raising the alarm while in distress on Monte Pizzocolo, at an altitude of about 700 meters, in the municipality of Toscolano Maderno. The two men, trapped in a rugged area near Ortello, called for help when their hike took a dangerous turn. The prompt intervention of the Valle Sabbia Alpine Rescue Station teams, assisted by the Fire Brigade, enabled them to be located and brought to safety.
The rescue operation concluded around one o’clock in the morning, with no injuries reported by the hikers. After being rescued, they were escorted by the rescuers to the trail and then to the road, ensuring their safe return home.
