Municipal Library Launches Cultural and Etiquette Initiatives in February-March
The Municipal Library is stepping into the spotlight. Established last November, the new management committee has outlined a calendar of its first initiatives, which will be presented on Saturday at 3:30 PM at Palazzo Carlotti.
Objectives and guidelines of the new committee
“We have moved forward with clear goals in mind, and in particular,” says Carla Brunelli, chairwoman of the committee, “the enhancement of the Library’s presence throughout the cultural, social, and economic fabric of the territory, with a focus on coordinating with other cultural associations operating in the Municipality.“
With this approach, we committed ourselves to both broad and specific initiatives related to youth interests, starting from the strengthening of the organizational structure, gathering information on the popularity of the initiatives, and continuously verifying the citizens’ expressed and unexpressed desires.
Building on these directions, the projects have been developed, as the president explains: “Culture… in the Kitchen” and “Etiquette,” while other initiatives are in advanced planning stages and will be defined between February and March.
February and March initiatives
The program begins in February with “Culture… in the Kitchen,” a structured series for two distinct categories of users, offering three participation modes for culinary professionals and family enthusiasts of cooking.
The speakers for “Marketing in the Kitchen” are experts in gastronomic marketing, psychologists, culinary professionals, teachers, and territory art and recipe specialists.
Four sessions planned for March aim to enhance the gastronomic and cultural heritage of the territory through a joint effort involving restaurateurs, local farmers, and tourist organizations.
Additionally, there are two proposals for cooking at home: two evenings at the restaurant “Al Frantoio” in Pesina, where two skilled chefs will suggest and develop other menus alongside passionate and eager students, and four discussions at “Bar Mazzini” in Caprino, focusing on wine and oil tasting.
The Etiquette Project
Next, a more demanding initiative dedicated to “Etiquette” involves conversations and films from February 11 to mid-May.
“It’s not strange,” the initiative promoters note, “that in the contemporary world, we are returning to talk about Etiquette. Etiquette is not ‹what one should do or what one should avoid doing›, but rather the reason why one thing can be done and another cannot.”
This is analyzed through a series of seven discussions (every Friday) on themes that are now part of our daily interactions with others.
The critical reflection is complemented by a selection of seven recent films (each Wednesday), which further broadens and clarifies the concepts of a “new way of understanding Etiquette.”
