Nago-Torbole Fire Station Renovation and Dedication Ceremony

Firefighters are currently very active in the Municipality of Nago-Torbole. This has certainly been compounded by the massive effort required to handle the ongoing bad weather conditions. Meanwhile, a new station has been nearing completion, with part of the first floor of the former Dependance of the Colonia Pavese being renovated. All work has been carried out independently, for now.

This includes the new premises designated for offices, radio room, kitchen, and locker rooms. As was previously agreed with the Municipality when the decision was made to reorganize the spaces currently occupied by the firefighters—to make room for the youth center and, as soon as possible, for the elderly.

As for the warehouse and the new garage to be built on the ground floor, those will be addressed later. On Sunday at 11 a.m., the inauguration will take place, along with the dedication of the station to Claudio Giovanazzi, a young firefighter from Torbole who wanted to be remembered despite many years having passed since his death.

He was, in fact, swept away by the Sarca River flood at the age of 26 during the historic flood of 1906. Prior to that, at 10 a.m., there will also be a presentation to the community of the new banner of the corps, commissioned by the new commander Tiziano Giuliani, inside the church of Torbole.

An analogous ceremony was held on Sunday, December 3, at the Nago archpriest’s church. The day will also include the solemn promise by the new firefighters in front of Mayor Parolari, a completely new tradition that is being introduced starting this year.
