On Friday morning, the dedication ceremony of the “Gabriele D’Annunzio” barracks’ honor hall took place in honor of Garibaldi Lolini, a Sub-Sergeant awarded the Bronze Medal for Civil Valor for an act of heroism that occurred in 1891. The event was attended by the Prefect of Brescia, Andrea Polichetti, the Provincial Commander of the Guardia di Finanza, Colonel Francesco Maceroni, and the Mayor of Salò, Francesco Cagnini, along with other civil and military authorities. During the ceremony, Lieutenant Emanuele Maestri recalled the history of the Salò Command and the importance of historical memory linked to the sacrifices made by the financial police.
Sub-Sergeant Lolini was recognized for his efforts in extinguishing a fire in a local forest. The ceremony emphasized the values of selflessness and love for the homeland demonstrated by the financial police throughout the centuries. The President of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, Giordano Bruno Guerri, also referenced the Corps’ motto “Nec recisa recedit,” highlighting the significance of dedication to service in the history of the Fiamme Gialle.
