New Court Clerk Boosts Staff at Castiglione Tribunal Section
Starting Monday, a court clerk will begin full-time service at the detached section of the Tribunale. Dr. Torsella, transferred to Castiglione from Brescia, will fill a position that has been vacant for 11 years: a significant staffing shortage, temporarily mitigated until now by the weekly deployment of an official from the Mantova headquarters.
“I am pleased; the Castiglione section will greatly benefit from this presence,” comments Judge Marcello Bortolato, formerly a magistrate at Palazzo del Principe. It is worth recalling that the branch office was established in 1998 in anticipation of the national abolition of the Preture, serving twenty municipalities from Monzambano to Redondesco, including Asola and Castel Goffredo, up to Castiglione itself.
Organization and Users
Overall, a population base of 100,000 residents, with 6,800 businesses and 37,000 employees. The volume of civil and criminal cases handled by the former Pretura is thus considerable, but Mantova has long awaited reinforcements to its staff, which has remained perpetually understaffed.
For this reason, the city council also addressed the issue with a document directed to the Prefect and the Minister of Justice, advocating for adequate personnel to be assigned to the section.
Situation and Future
“This shortage,” the unanimously approved document stated, “not only negatively impacts the normal and prompt functioning of the judiciary but also jeopardizes the very survival of the detached section of the Tribunale.” The concern is now alleviated, with the arrival of the new clerk starting Monday.
