New Specialized Support Program Launched for Muscular Dystrophy at Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital
A new clinical service dedicated to muscular dystrophy has been launched at the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, marking a significant advancement in local healthcare. The initiative, developed through collaboration with UILDM Bergamo and the NeMO Clinics of Milan and Brescia, offers personalized care pathways and home management support, integrating multidisciplinary professionals to improve patient quality of life.
Operational since January, the specialized outpatient clinic is staffed by a case manager nurse and open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1 PM to 6 PM, with a dedicated phone line for immediate assistance. The project aims to expand services for various neuromuscular disorders, strengthening hospital-territory integration and fostering cooperation among healthcare providers, patient associations, and specialized centers.
