On the night of Tuesday, August 8, 2025, a chase between Carpenedolo and Desenzano led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man, already known to law enforcement for previous offenses related to driving under the influence. The incident began around 3:00 AM when a patrol from the Radiomobile Unit signaled a Fiat Punto to stop, but the driver accelerated, initiating a high-speed escape along provincial road 567 for approximately 20 kilometers.
The pursuit ended at the Cameo factory in Desenzano, where the carabinieri managed to flank the fleeing vehicle, but were subsequently rammed, causing both vehicles to veer off the road. The 34-year-old was arrested on charges of resisting a public official, and investigations were initiated to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Two carabinieri sustained minor injuries and were treated on-site by personnel from the Croce Rossa of Rivoltella.
