Oltresarca Residents Seek Action on Local Issues and Proposed Golf Ban

A group of elderly residents from Oltresarca, in a letter sent to the editors of Adige, highlights a series of issues and, above all, expectations. First and foremost is the so-called third pharmacy, which has long been planned for Viale Stazione in Bolognano. “An embarrassing situation, so many promises made so far but not kept.”

Likewise, there is still anticipation for the expansion of the Vignole cemetery, although the Comune states that the process is in an advanced stage (ed. note). Regarding the piece of land adjacent to the Èveresi Hotel, now for sale and owned by the parish, a bequest from a certain Vecchietti, it is recalled that the entire town has signed to ensure the purchase is made by the Comune.

The Laghel Cross and Other Topics of Interest

Then, the issue of the Laghel Cross. “For us in Oltresarca, it was a sort of lighthouse. Why was it not illuminated during the Jubilee year?”. These elderly residents of Oltresarca do not agree with recent statements by Gianni Caproni, president of Afusa, in favor of the casino.

“The casino,” they say, “should not be built — our valley must remain peaceful. We know how the families of certain people who went to gamble ended up. So much pain. So many suicides caused by losing money in such an absurd way.”

There is no need for a casino to generate employment in the Basso Sarca. What is needed above all is honest and clean work. Many years ago, Oltresarca was a good municipality. Don Domenico Lattisi also founded the Rural Bank. It was an example of operational efficiency, seriousness, and commitment.

The current administrators should remember their ancestors.

The Golf Course and Community Opposition

In Oltresarca, a committee is also being formed to oppose the construction of a golf course in the agricultural areas of this locality. What are the reasons for this stance?

Ivo Bertamini, from Vignole, one of the main proponents of this opposition initiative, did not want to reveal any details yesterday. An upcoming public meeting has been scheduled with the community precisely to explain the reasons for the “no” to golf in Oltresarca.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, February 24, at 8:30 PM, at the Casinò di Arco.
