The sixteenth edition of “Help Us Grow. Gift Us a Book” has concluded with significant success, an initiative promoted by the bookstore chain Giunti al Punto, which, thanks to the support of enlightened readers and companies, has enriched local libraries. The La GrandeMela Shopping Center, located in Lugagnano di Sona, hosted the ceremony for the delivery of over 3,000 volumes destined for local schools and the pediatric ward of the Negrar hospital. The event, held on Sunday, September 28 at 4:00 PM, saw the participation of numerous families, children, and teachers. A Commitment to the Community and the Culture of Reading The initiative aims to donate books to school libraries and pediatric hospital wards. In this edition, the Giunti al Punto bookstore within La GrandeMela focused the collection on the schools of the municipality of Sona and the pediatric ward of the Negrar hospital. The delivery event took place in the shopping center, home to one of the main Giunti bookstores in Italy. Voices from Authorities and Organizers The ceremony was attended by various local authorities, including Mayor Gianfranco Dalla Valentina and Deputy Mayor Monia Cimichella, along with the director of the Shopping Center, Marco Cingottini, who has supported the initiative for years through donations. Cingottini emphasized how the Shopping Center wanted to participate again this year, integrating the initiative into the cultural project “Spazio alle Parole,” aimed at making the center a laboratory of storytelling and creativity for the Veronese territory and its schools. The Director added: “Once again this year, the Shopping Center wanted to participate in this important initiative, which we have included in the Spazio alle Parole event, a cultural project that transforms the Center into a laboratory of creativity and storytelling, actively involving the Veronese territory and its schools. The Shopping Center has always supported initiatives with significant cultural and social vision, and when the proposal comes from one of our retailers, we are even happier to join and support the initiative.” Daniela Mori, area manager of Giunti al Punto, expressed great satisfaction with the results at the national level. Nationwide, the project has collected and donated over 342,000 books, with 3,000 of those at La Grande Mela, involving more than 1,850 companies. Mori stated: “We are very proud of the results achieved in this sixteenth edition, both because we believe that helping a child grow by donating a book to the school means contributing to the development of a culture of social responsibility and at the same time it becomes not only a precious moment for the kids but also one of the strategies to propose a lively and dynamic image of the book, encouraging the discovery of reading as a moment of free and enjoyable engagement, as well as fostering cohesion with major companies like La GrandeMela and the local communities.” Engaging Young Readers A particularly appreciated moment was when many parents and children present at the award ceremony received a book to take home. This gesture was accompanied by a commitment from the young readers to read the book and later return it to their school library. Italian Version
