Padenghe Environmental Cleanup Event Focuses on Lake Garda Preservation

Second event of the Padenghe elementary and middle school students focusing on the issue of environmental protection and preservation, scheduled for Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of May.

In the morning, the students, upon invitation from the Ecology, Sports, and Leisure Department and the Culture Department of Padenghe, will gather by the lake armed with equipment provided by the municipal administration to collect both human-made and natural debris.

This cleanup effort aims to project a positive image of one of the most beautiful and scenic spots in Valtenesi, ahead of the upcoming tourist season.

T-shirt Distribution and Sunday Activities

On Friday morning, the mayor of Padenghe, Gaincarlo Allegri, personally handed out a white T-shirt, specially made for the “ecological event,” to each of the participating students.

However, environmental interest will not be limited solely to land cleanup. On Sunday, in the public area of Lido di Padenghe, underwater cleaning activities will take place in collaboration with the Centro Sub “Solo Blu” and “Effe Sub Scuba Equipment Seregno”.

Starting at 9:00 a.m., some divers will submerge to recover items abandoned beneath the water, which have settled on the lakebed.

The dives will continue until 1:00 p.m., after which refreshments will be offered to participants and attendees. On Sunday, it will also be possible to view some footage created by Mario Valvassori showcasing unseen and invisible underwater scenes and situations from the shores or surface of Lake Garda.

Images undoubtedly fascinating and, most notably, in preview—never seen before. It is rare to see videos or documentaries made in the depths of Italy’s largest lake, Lake Garda.

This could represent a new, tourism-interesting resource to be further developed in the future by diving enthusiasts.
