On Saturday, July 19th at **9:00 PM**, the old port of **Lazise** will host the highly anticipated **89th Palo della Cuccagna del Cadenon**, an event that marks a highlight of the local **summer festivities**. Four teams, representing different districts, will compete to seize the flag positioned at the top of the slippery pole. The participating teams are Porta San Zeno, Porta del Lion, Porta Cansignorio, and Boca del Porto, all ready to give their best in this traditional competition.
The race has deep historical roots and has evolved over time: initially, the trophies hung from the pole were food items, whereas today, participants must run along a well-greased horizontal pole to grab the flag and dive into the water to claim their prize. This engaging spectacle attracts numerous spectators each year and stands as one of the most emblematic events in Lazise and around the lake, celebrating local culture with enthusiasm and enjoyment.
