Phone Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri for Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and High Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the armed forces.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the actual Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
